The ideology of Alexander the Great was influence significantly by the people who educated him, which were great philosophers, in which Aristotle was among them. Alexander took his knowledge provided by his tutors and later applied it to his ruling. He also thought that the military was one of the most important things in an empire because it was the defenses and with a great army people would avoid having to battle Alexander. He also believed that every conqueror should respect the culture and beliefs of the people they conquered, and he firmly believed that betrayal was a great offense and he killed several close mentors and even friends because they disagreed in something. He did not believe women were that much different than men and he was used to the idea of slavery as he grew up with slaves.
